Flowers of the Dales Festival at A Flowers of The Dales Festival Location
Running from April to October, the Flowers of the Dales Festival offers a wide range of fantastic events and activities to help you discover and celebrate the wonderful wildflower habitats of the Yorkshire Dales.
Wildflowers and other plants can be found all over - in the flowery Dales meadows; on the wild, heather-clad 'tops'; in cool, shady woodlands and in the 'grikes' of otherworldly limestone pavement. From the common to the not-so-common to the rare, the Festival aims to celebrate them all!
Flowers of the Dales Festival events for 2010 include wild flower walks and talks, bumblebee, bat and butterfly talks and walks, wild flower photography courses and competitions, farm open days, art exhibitions, children’s craft activities, quizzes, wild flower ID courses.
The events are run by a wide range of partnership organisations and individuals throughout the Dales and the Festival is co-ordinated by the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT), a charity that works to support the environmental, social and economic well-being of this special area. Look out for our flower logo and read all about the events that feature in the Flowers of the Dales Festival!
