Farfield Mill Arts and Heritage Centre at Farfield Mill
Open from 10am -5pm daily from Feb-Jan, Farfield Mill is just one mile east of Sedbergh, England's 'Book Town'. Nestling between the Lake District and The Yorkshire Dales and in the shadow of the stunning Howgill Hills, a rescued Farfield Mill opened its doors in April 2001 to an exciting new life as an arts and heritage centre.
The centre is now a favourite visitor attraction for people visiting the Dales. An unrivaled selection of high quality arts & crafts are always on display and Farfield's resident artists can usually be seen working in their studios creating work that is for sale.
You can explore the history of the Mill from 1837 to the present day which centres around textile production: from shearing the raw fleece to the finished cloth. The mill is also home to two magnificent working dobcross looms which you can see operated by our master weaver.
